It takes that long because it’s in the crockpot. Set it and go! But, you could also make it on the cooktop. In about an hour, it should be ready! Happy New Year, Harry!

I am so sorry that I didn’t get to this comment more quickly…you probably needed that answer. Let me know how you handled it but I didn’t have a problem with getting a crisp skin. The skin softens a bit as it’s staying warm but it’s still delicious!
