Homemade Pepperoni Pizza Rolls

Homemade Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are the ideal appetizer for game day or holiday gatherings.  Fairly substantial, they could also be a light lunch with soup or a salad on the side.

Using store-bought pizza dough (in the tube to keep it super-easy), the dough is covered with olive oil and herbs and then layered with cheeses and pepperoni.  Serve with marinara sauce on the side and you’ve got yourself a winner!

This is a very simple recipe to make.  Roll out one pizza crust and press it into a rectangular shape.  Drizzle it with olive oil and then sprinkle the garlic powder, salt and Italian seasonings over the top.

Sprinkle the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses over and top with pepperoni slices.

Roll the dough up, starting on the long side.  Pinch the dough all along the seam to secure it.

Slice the dough into 16 pieces and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.  Bake for 11-13 minutes or until the rolls are golden and the cheese is melted.

Let them cool for a few minutes and then serve with marinara or pizza sauce and dried oregano.  Enjoy!

Homemade Pepperoni Pizza Rolls

Makes: 16 rolls

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Bake Time: 11 minutes

Total Time: 21 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (13.8- ounce) tube pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup thin sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce for dipping

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line 1 large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Sprinkle flour on a clean counter. Roll out 1 pizza crust and press it into an even rectangle shape (you don’t need to roll the dough out thinner, it just needs to be even to roll up.) Drizzle the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder, kosher salt, and Italian seasoning.

Sprinkle parmesan and mozzarella onto top of seasonings. Finish by spreading pepperoni on top of the cheese.

From the long side, roll the dough up tightly into an even log, pinching the dough to seal. Use a serrated knife to cut the log into 16 equal slices. Place the rolls onto the lined baking sheet 1 & 1/2 to 2 inches apart. Bake for 11 – 13 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and the cheese is melted. Allow the rolls to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and serve with warm pizza sauce.
