Witches Cauldron Jello Shots

Witches Cauldron Jello Shots are the perfect way to celebrate Halloween, adult-style. Sonic green jello combines with sour apple Schnapps (or vodka) to provide the base to these tasty treats.  Add some murky foam and top it with cauldron bubbles and you have a spooky shot for the holiday!

We moved to a new neighborhood a few years ago right before Halloween.  We didn’t know anyone so I thought the best way to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood was to give the adults something special. The kids got sweets and the parents got a jello shot!  You bet that we’re the house they all want to come to!

This is a layered deal.  Start with the bottom layer and mix up some green jello powder with boiling water and sour green apple Schnapps.  Fill each jello shot glass 3/4 full and place in the fridge for about 2 hours, until firm.

For the second layer, dissolve unflavored gelatin in cold water and then add boiling water and whisk until it’s dissolved.  Then, add sweetened condensed milk and schnapps.  Stir in a few drops of green food coloring and let the mixture come to room temperature.  Divide the murky layer between all of the shot glasses, leaving about 1/4-inch of space on the top.  Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours or until firm.  You can leave them overnight as well.

When you are ready to serve them, top with sour apple popping boba.  These are an awesome way to get a bubbly effect on the top of the witches brew!  Happy Halloween!
