There is something so satisfying when only a few ingredients make a delicious recipe, but 2-Ingredient Yogurt Bread??!! I couldn’t believe that this could really be something tasty with only two ingredients, so I gave it a whirl. I’m here to report that this is a delicious and simple bread recipe!
The bread has a crunchy exterior and the interior is soft, a little chewy and the flavor is reminiscent of sourdough. All in all, it’s hard to beat this recipe for bread to use for sandwiches or toast.
And, if you don’t have self-rising flour, we even give you a hack to make your own!
It really doesn’t get much simpler than this. Combine self-rising flour with low-fat vanilla yogurt. Don’t use Greek yogurt as it just doesn’t come out the same way.
The dough will be shaggy but just mix it until the flour is completely incorporated.
Spread it in a loaf pan and bake until the top is nicely browned and a skewer stuck in the middle comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool. Serve it warm with butter or room temperature for sandwiches.

2-Ingredient Yogurt Bread
Makes: 10 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Bake Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 cups self rising flour
- 1 & 3/4 cups low fat vanilla yogurt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Spray with cooking spray and line an 8×4-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
Sift your flour into a large bowl. Add to it the yogurt and mix using a silicone spatula until the flour is completely incorporated. The dough will be shaggy. Transfer the batter to your pan and spread out evenly with the spatula so that the top is mostly even.
Bake for 35-40 minutes. You may need to loosely cover the bread with foil halfway through the baking if the top is getting too dark. Remove your pan from the oven and allow 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to fully cool.
Chef’s Notes:
If you don’t have Self Rising Flour here is the homemade version:
- 3 cups all purpose flour + 4 & 1/2 tsp baking powder + 3/4 tsp salt
Make sure you use regular vanilla yogurt – Greek yogurt does not work in this recipe.
